L1 Support Specialist
An L1 Support Specialist, also known as a Level 1 Support Technician, is an entry-level role in the chain of IT Support specialists of all levels and typically has the following responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for users experiencing IT issues
- Receive and log all incoming support requests through various channels (phone, email, chat)
- Perform initial assessment of issues and provide basic troubleshooting
- Resolve common, straightforward problems such as password resets, software installations, and basic hardware issues
- Escalate more complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary
